CBD Oil with Herbs: How does it Work?

How would CBD oil with herbs work?

On one hand, CBD is a hemp-derived cannabinoid that has the power to help us balance our endocannabinoid system, making us healthier both physically and mentally.

On the other hand, the use of medicinal herbs to help heal and balance our bodies finds its origins in ancient tribes and millenary cultures of continents like Asia and the Americas. One example of this is the Ayurvedic (or Ayurveda) lifestyle which originated in India more than 3000 years and was created around the belief that true health is achieved by ensuring the delicate balance between mind, body, and spirit. Sound familiar?

Today we are going to dive into how these two ingredients can be mixed together to enhance their individual benefits and help you achieve specific goals.

Medicinal herbs & Adaptogens

A herb is a plant or a part of the plant that is used for its scent, flavor, or therapeutic properties. Traditionally, they are used in homemade solutions whose recipes can be easily found on the internet or in our grandma’s notepad. As modern medicine evolved, so did the way in which people could add herbs into their daily diets and routines. This is how “natural” supplements were created.

Adaptogens are herbs that are specifically used for their stress-relieving properties. Though this doesn’t mean they can all work for you, adaptogens include plants and roots that are present in our normal daily diets. There are at least 70 types of adaptogens such as ginseng and ashwagandha.

Why take CBD oil with Herbs?

CBD oil is a supplement that was created for the many benefits that CBD, the cannabinoid, has on our endocannabinoid system. This compound activates the receptors in our bodies that are responsible for balancing our digestive and nervous systems, along with relieving pain and tension from our limbs and internal organs.

Unfortunately, as good as CBD oil is at helping us take care of various health issues, it is not the best a targeting any specific problems. For example, some people choose to go for the full-spectrum formula because it can be more effective at treating severe pain (like the one caused by arthritis).

Contrary to CBD oil, herbs and adaptogens are mixed and used to treat specific symptoms or conditions. And, even though you can find that one herb has more than one property when paired with another one that has the same property, they enhance each other their effectiveness and durability increase.

Combining herbs and CBD oil works in the same way. For example, if you are currently taking CBD oil to increase your sleep quality, you may find that it does wonders. However, if you suffer from severe insomnia and are looking to try CBD oil, it could be better if you added some herb intake to your daily routine to enhance the sleep-inducing properties.

The most commonly used herbs and adaptogens in CBD oil formulas:

Ginger – Full of antioxidants that help you prevent diseases. It also has powerful anti-inflammatory and soothing properties.

Turmeric – It’s a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It may also help improve symptoms of depression and arthritis.

Peppercorn – Piperine, a key compound in black pepper, has also been linked to potential anti-inflammatory benefits.

Valerian Root – It may help improve sleep quality, reduce anxiety, and calm a hyper-functioning nervous system.

Passionflower – Great for anxiety and sleep problems and pain, heart rhythm problems, menopausal symptoms, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Peppermint – It can be used to address a number of health concerns, from muscle aches and seasonal allergy symptoms to low energy and digestive complaints.

Ashwagandha – It has anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, and anti-depressant properties, making it extremely valuable for our health.

Pumpkin Seeds – They are rich in vitamins and minerals like manganese and vitamin K, both of which are important in helping wounds heal.

Holy Basil – It can help protect against infection, lower your blood sugar, lower your cholesterol, ease joint pain, and protect your stomach.

Conclusion

Holistic methods are trending and still debated as truly beneficial for people’s health. They find their origin in millenary Indian beliefs and are used worldwide as natural ways to help prevent diseases, manage symptoms, or just maintain a healthy body and mind.

When it comes to keeping our internal systems in balance, CBD oil is the health supplement that ensures our overall health is taken care of. However, some herbs and roots can be combined with CBD oil to ensure that the existing benefits of CBD are focused and greatly enhanced for quicker, better, and more durable results.
