Today, we are going back to the basics of CBD oil for beginners. We know that a lot of you are new to CBD oil so, we want to touch on some of the topics we get the most asked about: the correct dosage for you, making sense of the pricing, and different flavor options.
CBD Oil Dosage for Beginners
This matter depends on a few different things:
- What are you going to be using CBD oil for? What is your desired outcome? If you are using CBD oil for pain management or a chronic health condition, you will need to take more to get the results you are looking for.
- In what form are you taking the product in? With CBD oil, it’s better to keep it under the tongue for increased absorption. When it comes to capsules, they need to go through the digestive system, but some of the CBD is lost in that process, so you will want to take more.
- The concentration of the product also spills into our next section of the discussion: pricing. This is going to be different from the size of the bottle or the number of milliliters. The concentration is the number of milligrams of the active component of CBD in the oil which we discuss more below.
That being said, we suggest that, as a beginner, you start slowly with CBD oil and work your way up. You can also use our Dosage Journal to keep track of which doses work best for you. Pricing CBD Oil for Beginners
The price range for CBD products is all over the place and, to someone new to the industry, this probably does not make much sense. Allow us to explain further…
The major reason for significant price differences between products is due to the concentration of the active component – CBD, which we briefly mentioned before. Again, this has nothing to do with the bottle size or the number of milliliters of oil in the product. The price is entirely related to the number of milligrams of CBD per bottle.
For example, if you compare ICARIA’s THEIA, priced at $145, with the new HARMONIA, priced at $255, you will see a price difference of $110. However, THEIA’s concentration is 1500 mg of CBD, while HARMONIA has 3000mg of CBD.
HARMONIA priced at $255 per 3000mg of CBD
255/3000 = $0.085 per mg of CBD
THEIA priced at $145 and 1500mg of CBD
145/1500 = $0.096 per mg of CBD
All this math means that you are saving $31 on 3000mg of CBD by getting HARMONIA instead of THEIA, which makes it a much better value in the end.

CBD Oil Flavour Options for Beginners
If you look at the CBD oil market, you will see a lot of different flavors being offered. At ICARIA, we currently offer two options: hemp flavor or zero flavors (to keep things as natural as possible).
