A common question that we regularly get from our customers is regarding the concerns that CBD oil might be addictive. So, is it then?
The answer to this is a resounding NO! CBD oil is NOT addictive, and we will go to the reasons behind this below.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is the non-psychoactive component of the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, which IS psychoactive, with CBD you will not feel any of the effects on cognitive impairment. In addition, taking CBD won’t cause any changes in your reality or perception. You will feel clearer, more grounded, and more like yourself.
We already know that marijuana leads to psychological dependence and even addiction due to the dopamine-releasing properties of THC. CBD, however, does not contain any of these qualities. It is even being researched as a treatment for addictions due to the effect it has on regulating the nervous system.
The Research Shows…
A recent report by the World Health Organization (WHO) states that CBD has been shown, in animal studies, to decrease the effect on the reward pathway within the brain, which is linked to addiction. Therefore, from both a physiological and psychological standpoint, there is no potential for abuse, tolerance, or withdrawal. This makes CBD an extremely safe supplement that is not habit-forming in any way, shape, or form.
“I love this product but I have to be honest at the beginning I was very nervous to take this coming from a very addictive background and not wanting to go back there. I was worried about CBD, I did research and contacted Nadya with a lot of questions (she was so helpful and full of information) and decided to finally try it and was amazed. NOT what I was expecting at all. This product brought a sense of calm to me (which is hard to get). I use it when I need help concentrating with school. I went from sitting and getting up every 20 minutes to being able to sit and get a project done in a day in what would take me 3 days!! Try it with your coffee. I highly suggest this product. The time given by Nadya to answer my questions and her knowledge makes this one I think everyone could benefit from.”

The Verdict
According to several studies, while THC is habit-forming in some respects, CBD seems to counteract this effect. It even fights against addiction by decreasing the activity of this pathway in the brain.
